Sun Tea Recipe

Sun Tea Recipe, as the name suggests, is exactly what it is – tea made from the sun. What can be more perfect than to use nature to brew that perfect cup of tea. I love the fact that there are no costs involved, other than the cost of tea which is usually so minimal. And there is no cooking or boiling either. What a perfect way to have tea on a warm summer day.

This is one of the most simplest recipes and no one can go wrong with it.

Ingredients

* Tea
* Water
* Sugar or honey to taste
* Fresh lemon (optional)
* Sun

Brewing Instructions

Fill a jug with 5 cups of cold water.

Add 4 teaspoons of loose leaf tea or 3 tea bags. I personally love fresh loose leaf tea. I think it tastes so much better.

Stir and cover the jug with a lid.

Place the jug in a sunny spot for about 3-4 hours.

Let the sun rays brew the tea to your desired strength.

The tea will turn a nice golden brown as the sun does its magic.

Strain and add sugar or honey and lemon as desired.

You can drink the tea hot or pour over ice......uuhmmm yummy!

Sun Tea Recipe with Herbs

For a slightly different variation, you can also add herbs, like mint, lavender and sage. I usually have herbs growing in my garden and it’s a wonderful addition to sun tea. The fragrance and taste herbs add to this fun summer sun tea is very refreshing.

Use the same ingredient as above for Sun Tea

Brewing Instructions

Add a few sprig of herbs of your choice

Put the herbs in at the same time as the tea

Stir and let it sit in the sun for about 3-4 hours

Strain and pour

Drink hot or pour over ice

Add sugar or honey and a lemon as desired

How easy is that!
