Oolong Tea Weight Loss Program



The Oolong Tea Weight Loss Program - you are most probably asking yourself if there is such a thing. Well, it's not exactly a program but Oolong tea does help with losing weight and is recognized as a weight loss tea.

I know we all try and find the easiest and least painful method to lose weight. Despite all the diet fads and advertising on easy steps to lose weight, I don’t think there is a quick fix to this problem.

Like any good health regime, weight loss involves discipline, good eating and drinking habits and exercise. But if you add Oolong tea to this mix, it just may help you accelerate your weight loss program and achieve faster results. I’m not making any promises here but research and studies have shown some promising results.


So, how does the Oolong Tea Weight Loss program work?


Food related body weight is lost through increase energy expenditure (EE) and by inhibiting the absorption of nutrients which include fats and carbohydrates.

Blocks fat absorption: Studies have shown that Oolong tea has the effect of blocking the absorption of fats and carbohydrates and therefore it is key in reducing weight





Caffeine: It contains caffeine and like any stimulant, the caffeine in tea increases metabolism. This is a common fact. I know that and you know that. So this then leads to the next question. Is it possible that caffeine alone is responsible for weight loss and if so what makes this tea so special OR are there other components in Oolong tea that contribute to reduced weight.

As we have noted above, Oolong tea blocks the absorption of fats and carbohydrates. A study was conducted in Japan in 2003 which supports this statement.

The study compared the benefits of oolong tea and green tea and its impact on weight loss.

11 young women participated in this study. The participants received 3 different beverages; oolong tea, green tea and water. The results from the study showed that caffeine alone was not responsible for the weight loss.

Results of the Study to support Weight Loss

Energy Expenditure (EE) levels were about 3% higher when the participants drank oolong tea

The women burned an average of 67 more calories per day drinking oolong tea

Participants increased fat oxidation by 12% after drinking oolong tea vs caffeinated water.

The results are impressive but I will let you be the judge on how much of an effect Oolong tea has on weight loss.

Tea in moderation is good for you so you have nothing to lose in adding this to your diet. It may just help do wonders for that waistline!
