Gourmet Tea Information

Have you ever tried to research Gourmet Tea and came up with blank. It’s very difficult to define this term in relation to tea.

The word “gourmet” today is plastered everywhere in relation to food and drink. When you buy food and drink, do you stop and think – what does that mean? Is gourmet considered more refined, more expensive, does it taste better? Expensive does not necessarily mean better. I’m sure that is something most of us have found out through our own experiences. I know that I can find excellent food in a little hole in the wall type restaurant that doesn’t break my bank.

In the Food and Beverage industry, Gourmet is defined as “high-quality premium foods”. With rising income and more selective palates, people are leaning more towards healthy and nutritious foods. There are a lot of choices out there and tea is no exception. So, what does this mean for Tea? In the nutshell, it is high quality premium tea. Depending on the tea quality, the differences between regular and gourmet may be subtle, quite pronounced or non existent.

As I continue my research of tea, I will add information on suppliers and which ones may be worth checking out.
