Fennel Tea - works great for indigestion

Fennel tea is made with fennel seeds. Fennel seed is the fruit of Foeniculum vulgare, an aromatic herb of the parsley family. The plant has its origins in Europe and Asia.

The medicinal and herbal qualities of this versatile seed makes it popular in food and drink. Fennel seeds are used to spice up dishes. In food, they can be used in their seed form or be part of the ingredients that make-up the curry powder spice mix. Some of us take it as a breath freshner by chewing on the seeds. Another way of including it in our diet is by making tea with it.

Ingredients

* 2 cups of water

Preparation

* Bruise or crush the fennel seeds
* Place them in boiling water.
* Let the mixture steep for about 5-10 minutes on medium to low heat.
* Strain and serve.
* You can drink it hot or cold.
